The young (18 year old) but highly motivated Philip Ward writes about his founding of the Private Libraries Association in the Harrow Observer & Gazette on 17th May 1956. Little did he know how the Association would grow and flourish, and not just be a 'book pool' but a book publisher.

We regret to announce the death of Frances Guthrie, a member of some 50 years standing and a longtime member of council. She had devoted her life to collecting the work of her great-uncle, James Guthrie, and writing an account of his life and publications.
